On Tuesday, an Abuja Federal High Court has cancelled an appeal by Col. Sambo Dasuki (retd), the former National Security Adviser. asking it to stop the Federal Government from prosecuting and pressing further charges against him. According to Punch news, Justice Adeniyi Ademola ruled that the aforementioned application lacked merit and therefore Col Dasuki's prosecution continues. This is Dasuki's third application asking the court to stop the Federal Government from prosecuting him. The Federal Government is prosecuting Col Dasuki on four count charges for money laundering and illegal possession of firearms. The Judge further stated that Col. Dasuki's application is strange and equally said that no court in Nigeria has the right to either compel the Federal Government to prosecute a suspect or stop it from prosecuting an accused person.
