Olympic: Ministry refutes asking athletes to buy flight tickets

The Minister of Youths and Sports, Mr Solomon Dalung has refuted the rumour making round that his ministry has asked the foreign based athletes to buy their flight tickets to Rio for the Olympic games. This statement was made on Saturday in Lagos by his Special Assistant on Media Nneka Anibeze. According to the PUNCH, the minister said that the ministry never wrote any mail of such. He further stated that Angie Taylor, the Director High Performance has the sole responsibility of arranging for flights and movement of the foreign based athletes. He called on the athletes to disregard such rumour and be serious with their training. He also promised that the ministry will look into it and must fish out the writer of that letter.
