Abdulmumin Jibrin, the former Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Appropriation who resigned on Wednesday 20th July, 2016 has started calling for the resignation of the speaker Dogara and four other principal officers in the house of representatives. According to Encomium, Jibrin accused the Speaker, Hon Yakubu Dogara, his deputy, Hon Yusuf Sulaimon Lasun, the Chief whip, Hon Ado Garuba Hassan, and the minority, Hon Ogor Leonard Okuweh of budget padding. Hon Jibrin revealed this on Thursday 21st July, 2016 where he alleged that the speaker attempted padding N30billion into the 2016 budget. He further accused the four officers of attempting to allocate N40 billion to themselves out of the N100billion allocated to the entire National Assembly. He claimed to be against their action. However, this could be the reason why their friendship has turned sour.
