Senate in support of fuel price increase

On Tuesday, the Senate took side and showed its support on the increase in fuel price but also called on the Federal Government to implement the measures that would mitigate the hardship being faced by Nigerians. The Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu, who anchored the plenary session on the fuel price increase disclosed this in the resolution read at the end of a 65 minutes executive session. According to Punch, Senator Ekweremadu expressed his sympathy to the citizens who are facing hardship due to the fuel hike and promised to engage the federal Government in making sure that welfare of the ordinary man improves. The Senate further called on the executive arm of the government to work together with Labour leaders in order to address and find a solution to the issue.
