A passenger train that left Lagos on Friday was said to have derailed off its track at Jebba on Saturday morning and killed at least 2 passengers and wounded several others. According to Premium Times, one of the survivors who did not want to be named, said the crash happened at Jebba due to brakes failure. The survivor further said that not less than four people lost their lives while several other wounded commuters had been taken to emergency facilities for treatment. The Federal Road Safety Commission officials who responded to the emergency said two people lost their lives after detached coaches from the train fell on commuters. The FRSC Head of Media, Mr Bisi Kazeem noted that the train is a cargo train heading to Kano and also had few passengers on board.
