FG plans to reposition Sovereign Wealth Fund

The Minister of Finance, Mrs Kemi Adeosun said that Ministry of Finance has revealed strategies on how to reposition the Sovereign Wealth Fund in such a way that it would align with the Federal Government Infrastructural objectives. This revelation was made available to Punch correspondent on Friday through the minister's Media Adviser, Mr Festus Akanbinon. According to Punch, Mr Akanbinon quoted the minister and said that the economic team of the Federal government was doing everything possible to reposition the economy, and said that we are going to invest in capital projects in order to be sure that the economy is diversified. The minister further stated that there is already a wide gap in the country's infrastructure, and the government alone cannot close the wide gap bearing in mind that it is only 30 % of the budget that is mapped out for capital spending, hence the need for re positioning of the Sovereign Wealth Fund which would attract private capital, most especially foreign investments.
