#OccupyNASS got up to N400,000 daily for blocking National Assembly gate

The #OccupyNASS has debunked the claims that the group was being sponsored to protest against the National Assembly or its embattled president, Dr Bukola Saraki. The group made it clear that it was fighting a good fight and a just one for Nigerians. According to the group convener, Mr Bunmi Awoyemi, the reason behind their protest was because the legislatures were trying to amend the law so they can escape justice ,and also for the budget deadlock between them and President Buhari. Mr Awoyemi pointed out that many Nigerians both home and abroad supported their cause because they understood the movement's agenda. People started requesting for their account number immediately they announced their intentions. He further stated that they got up to an average of N400,000 everyday during the 3 days protest. The group had on Thursday said they would leave the main gate of the National Assembly on Friday morning, after its 3 days sit -in there. According to Premium Times, the group made it clear that they had achieved their aims and objectives of blocking the main gate of the National Assembly, which borders on making sure that: the law makers were not able to amend the Code of Conduct Bureau and Code of Conduct Tribunal Act, Could not summon the CCT chairman, demanded for return of the newly purchased Toyota Land Cruisers. Mr Awoyemi said he is happy that Nigerians from all works of life came out to support the protest and sent a strong warning that they will no longer be taken for a ride.
