Two suspects, Rilwanu Jamiu and Balogun Oyewole were arrested for attempting to withdraw the sum of N50m from the account of Lagos State Government. According to Punch reports, the suspects who claimed to be cocoa dealers were said to have cloned the mobile line of the Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode and tried transferring N50m from the said line. Mr Peter Okerinmodun, an officer of the Department of State Services, stated and i quote, "The duo used the cloned mobile line of the governor to send a text message to the Accountant General of the state requesting a transfer of N50m". The officer said the trick was detected and the two suspects were arrested, but others who connived with them are yet to be arrested. The 2 arrested suspects were arraigned on Wednesday before an Isolo Magistrate's court on two counts charge.
