DPR criticises marketers as petrol scarcity worsens

The Department of Petroleum Resources has criticized the oil marketers for subjecting Nigerians to untold hardship before getting fuel and insisted that the Federal Government has provided enough fuel in the country. According to Punch reports, the DPR said that the long queues which has disappeared from some of our filling stations has returned and this time is eight times of what it was before now. Punch reports that the long queues became worse on Thursday in places like Abuja, and its neighboring states: Nasarawa, Kaduna  and Niger states. The DPR frowned at the actions of some of the oil marketers who were involved in diversion of products, hoarding, adulteration and other nefarious activities and equally said that they would soon start to arrest and prosecute the offenders.  Mr Modecai Ladan, the Director of DPR stated in Abuja that the fuel scarcity being experienced now is nothing but the handwork of saboteurs and said that the agency would collaborate with other security forces to arrest offenders.
