Idoma nation protests the killing of Agatu's in the State

The Coalition of  Civil Society groups stormed the National Assembly in Abuja yesterday over the suspected Fulani herdsmen attack of the Agatu's in Benue state. The Fulani herdsmen invaded the community and have killed several people. Mr Paul Ede,the leader of the group lamented that the suspected Fulani herdsmen attacked the Agatu community killed 400 people and rendered 5000 people homeless. He further stated that there is need for humanitarian aid in the community and is calling on the Federal Government to set up a commission of Inquiry such that the remote and immediate causes of the killings in the community would be found out. The group also demanded the deployment of security personnel to the community for restoration of peace and order. The Deputy Senate Majority Leader, Bala Ibn Na' Allah addressed the protesters and assured them that the senate would look into the issue, and equally told them that they are with them 100% in their protest.
