On Monday, 5th September, 2016, Nigeria recorded its third polio case in the northeastern state of Borno. The World Health Organisation made this known and warned that more cases could break out in a major health setback. In August, two polio cases were reported. According to PUNCH news, Stephanie Mucznik, the spokesperson of Rotary International working with the Nigerian government to eradicate polio, said the three cases seem to be from the same strain of disease circulating in the northeast for years. The latest case is about a 2 year boy suffering from the onset of paralysis on 6th August in Monguno area.
