Aviation fuel leaves passengers stranded and disrupts flight schedules

The scarcity of aviation fuel known as Jet-A1 did not only make passengers to be stranded at airports yesterday, but also made some airlines to cancel or reschedule some flights. Several programmes that were slated to hold yesterday in Abuja were either delayed or postponed as key personnel who were to speak at the event could not make it to Abuja on time or at all. As a result of this scarcity, many passengers were stranded yesterday at the airports across the country. According to The PUNCH,  Arik Air said it has been battling with flight schedule issue since the inception of the fuel scarcity across the country. Arik Air further seriously complained about the fuel scarcity and attributed it to the inability of marketers to source for foreign exchange for importation of more of Jet-A1 fuel.
