Resident Doctors call off its nationwide strike

The National Association of Resident Doctors (NARD) has on Saturday called off its ongoing nationwide strike. The association has asked its members to return to work on Monday, the 27th of June, 2016.  According to Punch news, the President of the association, Dr Muhammad Adamu Askira, gave the directive in a communique read out to the journalists at the end of the National Executive Council meeting which was held at the trauma centre of the Nation Hospital Abuja. Dr Askira said the suspension was to enable the government implement agreements both parties reached at. NARD also appreciated the National Assembly for its intervention, most especially the Speaker House of Representatives, Mr Yakubu Dogara. It further said it would review the progress of the intervention during their NEC meeting which will hold between July 25 to 30.
