President Muhammadu Buhari has sent an official letter to the Senate informing them of his 10-day visit abroad for medical treatment. President Buhari also notified the law makers of his temporary hand over of the government to Vice President Yemi Osinbajo. On Monday, Buhari traveled to London so that he would see the specialists on Ear Nose and Throat for his ear infection. According to Premium Times, Buhari's letter about his trip was read on Tuesday by the Senate. The Deputy Senate President wished him quick recovery. Meanwhile, many Nigerians have condemned president Buhari's trip abroad for medical treatment, saying he was supposed to seek for medical treatment here in Nigeria. Dr. Osahon Enabule, the Vice President of Common Wealth Association told the Premium Times that the president's trip to London on medical reasons is a "tragic blot on Nigeria's collective professional and national image".
