Thomas Mair who gave his name as "Death to traitors, freedom for Britain" was charged with the murder of Jo Cox as he appeared at Westminster Magistrates' Court. Mr Mair was remanded in custody. The 41 year old Mrs Jo Cox was a Labour MP and married with 2 children. According to BBC, Mrs Cox was shot and stabbed in Birstall West Yorkshire on Thursday. The 52 year old Mr Mair faces charges of murder, grievous bodily harm, possession of firearm with intent to commit an indictable offence and possession of an offensive weapon. The defendant in grey tracksuit refused to give his correct name, address and date of birth in court earlier.
