2 arraigned for an alleged theft of employer's goods of N614,000

On Wednesday, two staff of Jumia Company, an online sales outlet were arraigned before Ikeja magistrate court for allegedly stealing their employer's goods that worth N614,000. The accused- Seun Olofa, 30 a dispatcher and Ayomikun Ifeoluwapo, 25 a driver are facing a 2 count charge of conspiracy and stealing. According to NAN, the prosecutor Insp Ezekiel Ayorinde informed the court that the accused committed the crime on 21st April at Jumia warehouse located at No 6B universal close Ikeja, Lagos. Insp. Ayorinde said the accused were caught on CCTV camera stealing some items when they were sent to the warehouse to pick some items and deliver to a customer. They were caught stealing PS4 computer game, some slippers, a Nokia phone, Phone accessories and a camera. The crime contravened section 285 and 409 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011. NAN reported that section 285 prescribes 3 year jail term for offenders. The duo pleaded not guilty to the charges. The Chief Magistrate Omolade Awope granted them bail in the sum of  N200,000 each with 2 sureties in like same. The case has been adjourned till 20th June, 2016.
