Mob kills an armed robber for murdering an OPC leader in Lagos

On Wednesday around 11am ,an armed robber shot dead an Oodua Peoples Congress leader, Sanjo Akintoye at Iponri area of Surulere in Lagos State during a failed robbery attack. The armed robber was said to have followed a construction worker to a branch of Zenith bank in the area, where he had gone to withdraw the sum of N500,000. According to Punch Metro, the said armed robber who was on a bike was asked what he was doing in the area as bikes are not allowed in the area. The armed robber shot the person who asked the question and this attracted Mr Akintoye attention who confronted the robber. The robber got angry and started shooting Mr Akintoye till he finished his bullets. Punch Metro correspondent gathered that the residents blocked all entrance and escape routes and were able to kill the robber on the spot as his bullets got finished.
