FG gets up to N220billion through integrated payroll system

On Tuesday, the Federal Government disclosed how it has been able to save up to N220 billion after it implemented the Integrated Personnel Payroll Information System which started in April 2007. According to Punch news, the Accountant General of the Federation stated that the amount is expected to increase if other agencies of the government were already included in the project. The IPPIS is a FG project which aims at transforming the Nigerian Public Service, improving the management of human resources and also providing a centralized payroll system in the public service. The IPPIS project which started with a total of 7 pilot ministries, departments, and agencies, has been able to save up to N220 billion for the FG. A total of 447 MDAs are already enrolled in this project while the remaining would be enrolled before this year runs out.
