Cassava farmers research ethanol as an alternative to petrol

The Nigerian Cassava Growers Association in Cross River State is carrying out a research on how ethanol can be used as petrol. They are into partnership with some relevant stakeholders and Cross River University of Technology on this quest. According to the State chairman of NCGA, Mr Augustine Oqua, who stated in Calabar that ethanol could be used as petrol and that some developed countries have started using it to drive their cars and do some other things. Mr Oqua equally said that since Cross River State is known for cassava production in large quantity, that the ethanol would be another source of revenue generation for the State.
