APC clears local government election in Sokoto

The All Progressives Congress won all the Chairmanship and Councillorship seats of the Local Government elections conducted in Sokoto State on Saturday. According to the News Agency of Nigeria reports, the Chairman State Independent Electoral Commission, Alhaji Usman Abubakar, announced  the result on Sunday in Sokoto and declared APC the winner of the election. The Chairman stated that APC won the 22 Chairmanship seats and 234 Councillorship seats. He described the election as free, fair and a credible one. The Chairman further stated that election was not conducted in Gudu Local Government because of the repetition of logos of some political parties and missing of some parties logos, and said that a new date would be announced for the conduct of a fresh poll in Gudu Local Government.
