Saraki- Leaders from 1999 responsible for the nation's economic mess

The senate president Bukola Saraki, has on Tuesday said that it was wrong for anybody to accuse or hold an individual or group of people responsible for the nation's economic mess of the recent past. Saraki said that the present economic woes facing the country is caused by the leaders and public office holders since 1999 and not just an individual or group of persons. This was in his response to an allegation of secrecy leveled against the National Assembly on budget and corruption by Olusegun Obasanjo. Saraki further said that what we need at the moment is a collective participation of all and sundry for nation building and not to start apportioning blame on any individual or group of people, He also declared that the details of the N115bn National Assembly budget would be made public in no distant time and that it is not going to be business as usual. In his response and i quote,
"We have all been here since 1999 up to the recent past when things were not done right, we are all part of it. I was there, you were there, every other political office holder in different capacities was there as well"
