A Methodist prelate suggests corruption probe should start from the 2nd Republic

Dr Samuel Uche, a Nigerian Methodist Church prelate, has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to start the corruption fight from second republic headed by  President Shehu Shagari in 1979. This was stated during the church Founder's Day anniversary and inauguration of Very Rev. Sunday Onadipe as Rector of Methodist Theological Institute in Sagamu,Ogun State. According to the cleric, Buhari's anti-corruption fight would only be successful if he started from second republic, which he toppled in 1983 after coup d'etat.  He further stated that Buhari should tackle corruption from a total and holistic angle and not being selective. Also he made it known that some people in Buhari's cabinet are more corrupt than the people he is hounding. So he is advising the president to fight corruption in a way that Nigerians would have confidence in  the Federal Government's war against corruption.
