An Islamic cleric and a lecturer in the Religious Department in University of Ilorin, Dr. Abubakar Aliagan, has called on the Federal Government to scrap the National Youth Service Corps. His reasons being that the scrap would enable the graduates to look for jobs upon graduation and not to waste extra one year for the programme. He said the scheme is not living up to its expectation rather causes greater damage to the nation. That its aims and objectives are not being met and therefore, suggested to the Federal Government to be giving each graduate his or total entitlement upon graduation.
