President Buhari says no to Naira devaluation
President Mohammed Buhari has said that there is not going to be an official devaluation of naira. This statement was issued by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu,on Thursday in Abuja. President Buhari revealed this to Nigerians living in Kenya during an interactive meeting with them. According to the president, naira devaluation is good for export countries but not for Nigeria, which depends on importation. Buhari further stated that he is not ready to unleash more hardships and sufferings on the poor and middle class citizens of this country who have suffered a lot. The president further appealed to Nigerians studying abroad to bear with him as he is doing everything possible to address the foreign exchange issues being faced at the moment.
