Fayose suspends 16 teachers for using school children as labourers

The Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose has suspended 16 teachers from Elo High School, Ayetoro Ekiti for using their students as slaves in their farms in the name of agricultural practicals during school hours. The parents of the affected students made the complaint to the state governor on how their wards are being sent to farm during school hours. An investigation was carried out and at the moment 16 teachers have been suspended due to this act. A JSS 3 student, Oluyeye Femi said and i paraphrase, though the school has a farm where the students are expected to go and farm for the agricultural practicals at least once a week but the teachers are now using it against the students by sending the students to their own private farms to weed and heaps making.
