Lassa fever kills forty people in 10 States

Professor Isaac Adewole, the Minister of Health has confirmed the outbreak of lassa fever in 10 states of the federation. About forty people out of the 86 reported cases are dead. The affected states are Bauchi, Edo, Gombe,Nasarawa,Niger,Taraba,Kano,Rivers,Plateau,Oyo. The minister further advises communities to be mindful of their environments and avoid contacts with rats and rodents, as well as food contaminated with rats excretions and secretions.
